Extraordinary Buttons and Steampunk Weddings

Today I completed a ridiculous knitting project. Ridiculous because it was very intricate and took a lot of time and I will very likely only wear the item once.

Yarn: Diamond Galway

These spats are a part of my outfit for a dear friend's Steampunk wedding. I think they look awesome. The pattern wasn’t exactly difficult, but it did demand attention – these were not streetcar knitting. There is a good chance I will only ever wear them for the wedding, so part of me feels a wasteful spending time and money on a one time use sort of item.

But then I look at the buttons and I know it was totally worth it.
